Chardonnay. With the bold flavors of ripe apple, pear, peach, melon, and even lemon and grapefruit, Chardonnay can be quite fruity or can fall in the direction of spice, honey, butter, butterscotch and hazelnut flavors. No other white table wine benefits as much from oak aging or barrel fermentation.

Chardonnay pairs nicely with mustard, sage, clove, ginger and Caribbean spices.
