Sauvignon Blanc or Fumé Blanc. Sauvignon Blanc, called Fumé Blanc in the states, can be tart, crisp and refreshing with a grapefruit and grass style. Less expensive than Chardonnay, even at its best it lacks the richness, depth and complexity of Chardonnay.

Sauvignon blanc pairs well with black pepper, garlic and oregano.
